Hazelnuts are naturally oily and as a result this product does have a tendency to separate when packaged. Upon arrival if the oil is sitting on top of the paste it can easily be reincorporated back into the mixture. It has a smooth if sometimes gritty consistency and is a great additive to confectionery to impart a hazelnut flavour.
Stir before use as some separation of oil will occur.
