Job Description #1

Job Type:            FULL-TIME Office/Factory based.

Hygiene Supervisor

    • To work in a safe and legal manner
    • Ensure that the area you are working is kept in an orderly state.
    • You must work in a safe and legal manner according to current legislation.
    • Ensure that the Safety and Legality of products is not jeopardised.
    • You must have commitment and demonstrate beliefs in the necessity for hygiene practices.
    • You will carry out tasks as per work instructions as issued by the Technical & Quality manager which will control the day to day running of the Hygiene Department.
    • To attend company meetings when asked to do so.
    • To complete and keep up to date the Hygiene Systems by completing deep cleans and completing documentation thoroughly.
    • To supervise the Hygiene department to ensure that daily, weekly and monthly tasks are fully completed.
    • To undertake training as deemed necessary by the company and relay such training to the Hygiene department.
    • Follow COSHH regulations at all times when using chemicals or within the area when chemicals are being used.
    • To carry out audits, internal and external and be involved in customer audits when asked by the Quality Manager.
    • To carry out some pest control work as per work instruction.
    • To follow the swabbing schedule and report results to the Quality Manager.
    • To issue work to the Hygiene Departments Staff to ensure the Department is effective. Check and sign off work when necessary.
    • To carry out daily spot checks of all areas and take actions as required.
    • To encourage all staff daily to work on a clean as you go basis.
    • Hygiene personnel must be trained to ensure that in your absence the day to day running of the Hygiene Department can continue.

    Role and responsibilities

    Report to: Technical & Quality Manager

     In the absence of the Technical & Quality Manager report to Director

    You will need to understand:-

    • Food Safety Act (and subsequent revisions) and company rules, policies and procedures.
    • Health and safety with regard to yourself and others.
    • Hygiene Practices/COSHH

    Record keeping:-

    • Records shall be legible and genuine; alterations to records shall be crossed through and initialled.
    • Records shall be fully completed and be filed in the appropriate place.
    • Records must be retained in a presentable manner and kept for 5 years.

    On a typical week

    Working hours from 8-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8-1pm on Friday. 

    About you

    You must have basic computer skills, confidence to communicate with customers, colleagues, and directors.

     We offer

    Starting on £14 per hour with potential gains depending on qualifications and skills.

    Holiday entitlement runs from 1st April through to the following 31st March, a five-day worker is entitled to 20 days, five of which are to be retained for Christmas/New Year shutdown, leaving 15 of their choosing plus 8 bank holidays (3 of which fall at Christmas/New Year).  This means that we pay the statutory minimum of 28 days (5.6 weeks). Additional days, i.e., service days are subject to the terms and conditions detailed in the Employee Handbook.

      • Follow COSHH regulations at all times when using chemicals or within the area when chemicals are being used.
      • To encourage daily all staff to work on a clean as you go basis.
