Job Type: FULL-TIME Factory based.

Site Maintenance Engineer

• Control day to day running of an engineering/maintenance unit.
• Oversee and manage maintenance systems, check sheets and preventative maintenance plans.
• Checking integrity of lines and other Food production equipment.
• Maintain process lines, factory equipment, and site.
• Committing and demonstrate right food hygiene practises.
• To work in a safe and legal manner
• Ensure that the area you are working is kept in an orderly state.
• You must work in a safe and legal manner according to current legislation.

The Person:

• A practical "hands on" person with and engineering background.
• Experience of engineering in a food environment an advantage.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills required.
• An understanding of basic electrics.
• Experience in general property/site maintenance.
• PAL /IPAF and fork truck licensing an advantage.

Role and responsibilities

Report to: Director

Record keeping:-

• Records shall be legible and genuine; alterations to records shall be crossed through and initialled.
• Records shall be fully completed and be filed in the appropriate place.
• Records must be retained in a presentable manner and kept for 5 years.

On a typical week:

Working hours from 8.30-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8-3pm on Friday. 

 We offer:

Starting on £15+ per hour with potential gains depending on qualifications and skills.

Holiday entitlement runs from 1st April through to the following 31st March, a five-day worker is entitled to 20 days, five of which are to be retained for Christmas/New Year shutdown, leaving 15 of their choosing plus 8 bank holidays (3 of which fall at Christmas/New Year).  This means that we pay the statutory minimum of 28 days (5.6 weeks). Additional days, i.e., service days are subject to the terms and conditions detailed in the Employee Handbook.
