These hazelnuts, due to the roasting process, often lose their skins. This leaves a slightly browned or golden appearing whole nut. They have a strong flavour and can be used in a variety of different ways as either decoration to a recipe or ground or blitzed down to be incorporated at a base level. It is possible to roast them again, giving them an exceptionally dark colour but this often leads to them tasting bitter.
