Currants are the product of a very small grape that has been picked and dried. They are normally a very dark brown or black in appearance and have a soft texture. Popular as an addition to cakes such as the black bun during Hogmany, they can add an extra dimension of flavour. When packed at source Currants have a small coating of oil applied to try and prevent them from sticking together.

Ingredients: Currants, Oil.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place preferably in an air tight container once opened.
