Sultanas differ from Raisins by having a slightly lighter hue. They are soft but sometimes chewy to the pallet and can contain traces of sulphur dioxide. Oil is used to try and keep the products separate and individual. A common additive to many meals to add a fruity flavour, from scones and tea cakes to coronation chicken, Sultanas are a fantastically versatile and tasty dried fruit.
