Almond Power Trail Mix

A great organic trail mix balances healthy fats, protein, fiber, and a little natural sweetness. This version is excellent for hiking, cycling, office snacks, or keeping in the car.

  • 50g dark chocolate chips (70%+ cocoa)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of sea salt

Method

Buy the ingredients in bulk and mix them yourself. Homemade organic trail mix is often 30–50% cheaper than premium packaged mixes and lets you avoid added oils, preservatives, and excess sugar.

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C.
  2. Spread almonds, walnuts, pecans, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds on a baking tray.
  3. Roast for 8–10 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Allow to cool completely.
  5. Chop the apricots into raisin-sized pieces.
  6. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
  7. Store in an airtight container.
